Furnessa Mangrum

Furnessa Mangrum has been the Executive Director of the Jefferson Avenue Childhood Development Center since December 1994. She has more than 15 years of experience working with children. Under her direction, the Center has been brought from the verge of being closed in 1994 to becoming accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) in February 2000 and October 2004. She has a B.S. in Marketing and recently completed her Master in Liberal Studies. In May 2001 she complimented her degree by completing her Family Development and Planning Credential through Cornell University. She has been very instrumental in implementing parent workshops and advocating for children rights through the court system. Additionally, she is a Child Health Advocate. Currently, she participates on several committees Advocacy Committee at the Early Childhood Quality Council, and the Board of Directors, Henrietta Child Care Center.
